
Those who frequent Orchard Road the shopping capital of Singapore may be familiar with this short stretch of road call Claymore Road. Why the name Claymore? There is a story behind it that dates back to a time long long ago.

A group of female warriors with blond hair and silver eyes from a nameless organization arrived and got rid of them. The female warriors did not let known their names or what to address them by. Characterised by the big claymore swords they carry with them, people simply call them
Claymores. To honour them for their kind deeds, the road was named after them.
