
On the train home yesterday, I realised the local rapid transit system has a time limit in which one can stay on the train or anywhere else inside the station without exiting the gantry. If one exceeded the time limit (like yours truly), not only will one not be able to exit the gantry, an extra $2 in addition to one’s normal fare will be deducted as a penalty for staying longer than one should.
The reason is because they do not want people (like yours truly) to travel to multiple stations in a given time. Take for example travelling to one end of the country to collect something without exiting and travelling back to the other end. Click here to read more of this entry
